The story of the Calafiore's Almond gets back to the beginning of the twentieth century. The founder , Paolo Calafiore, was born in 1892. He was a farming broker and he started his business with almonds in Solarino , a small town in Sicily.
At the beginning the workers used to shell the almonds by hands, breaking the shells with stones and hammers and separating the almonds inside.
Then in 1937 they started to use special machineries to shell the almonds.
Our company started its activity in 1964 thanks to Giuseppe Calafiore.
In 1989 it became a Company for the Almonds Processing, included in the Small and Medium -sized Enterprises, managed by Paolo Calafiore, who has a great experience in the almonds business.
In 1998 the company began its activitity in the biological market, complying with the rules of CEE2092/91 QC&I international service .
In 2001 the Calafiore's company has been renewed by the two sons of Paolo and by his wife; Giuseppe attends to trading, Vincenzo takes care of production while Mrs. Giuseppa attends to accounting.
Our company is one of the most important factories in Sicily in the dried fruit processing, and it is specialized in the processing and trading of conventional and biological almonds. It complies with the self-control regulations in force according to the HACCP system (Law decree n.155 of 1997)

Our company guarantees the integrity and quality of the products, selling absolutely natural almonds without any genetic alteration. We are obtaining the ISO 9001 certification. The goods are processed within a modern and well-equipped structure in the Syracuse area.
